Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Lippo Karawaci is not just a compliance activity, but a commitment and part and parcel of doing business. Lippo Karawaci’s strong commitment has been demonstrated through its involvement in a lot of activities and programs that focus on community development, healthcare, disaster relief and rehabilitation, education, and environment preservation.
Through the“Lippo Karawaci Peduli” and “Gerakan Masyarakat Mandiri” initiatives, the Company empowers the people in the community by conducting multifarious education and welfare assistance programs, as well as developing home industry activities to improve their economic well being.
The Indonesian Brain Foundation and the Children’s Charity Fund each has its own role in helping thousands of patients get high quality affordable or even free medical service. The blood donor club, Klub Donor Darah Lippo Karawaci (KDDLK), established since 1999, with its activities continues to make contribution.
After the devastating tsunami in Aceh (2005), the Yogyakarta earthquake (2006), Jakarta flood (2007) and in response to several other natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia, Lippo Karawaci was always in the front line with partner NGOs (including the Red Cross) and media, providing food and medication, organizing fund-raising and donation campaigns. Furthermore, Lippo Karawaci also supported other independent organizations including Kampung Kids, Bali Poverty Project, a rehabilitation project for the disabled in Aceh and the Aceh Tsunami Relief Fund.
As a company that introduced the new concept of comfortable, healthy, green and high quality residential environment in Indonesia, Lippo Karawaci continues its strong commitment to optimize clean and healthy living environment in its overall development. Tree planting programs, environmental awareness as well as the creation of comfortable environment will remain as its key priorities.
In 2008, Lippo Karawaci started the construction of Heroes Plaza on a 3 ha land site in San Diego Hills Memorial Park as the final repose of Indonesia’s prominent public figures.
