CELEBRATING THE 391st ANNIVERSARY OF TANGERANG REGENCY, TANGERANG REGENCY GOVERNMENT AND PT LIPPO KARAWACI Tbk. (LPKR) HOLD AFFORDABLE PREMIUM RICE SALE
Jakarta, 14 October 2023 - To commemorate the 391st Anniversary of Tangerang Regency on October 13, 2023, the Tangerang Regency Government and PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR) officially held a premium rice sale at an affordable price for underprivileged communities. The event took place on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Siloam Hospitals Lippo Village, Tangerang.
This initiative is a concrete form of concern from both the Tangerang Regency Government and LPKR for residents in need, particularly those living in five subdistricts: Kelapa Dua, Bencongan Indah, Bencongan, Binong, and Bojong Nangka.
The symbolic launch of the affordable rice sale was conducted by Acting Regent of Tangerang, Dr. Andi Ony P, M.Si; Commander of Korem 052/Wijayakrama, Brig. Gen. TNI Putranto Gatot Sri Handoyo, S.Sos, MM; and President Director of LPKR, Ketut Budi Wijaya. The event was also attended by senior officials from the Tangerang Regency Government, community leaders, and other invited guests.
The distribution was carried out through a voucher system. Each package, consisting of 5 kg of premium rice, 1 kg of flour, and 1 kg of sugar, valued at over IDR 100,000 was sold for a maximum price of only IDR 49,000 per package.
Acting Regent Dr. Andi Ony P, M.Si, stated that the program was initiated as an effort to mitigate the soaring rice prices caused by the El Niño phenomenon, which has also affected the supply and distribution of staple food in Tangerang Regency. “We hope this initiative will provide meaningful relief, especially for residents in need from the targeted subdistricts, by helping to meet their basic food needs, particularly rice,” he said.
President Director of LPKR, Ketut Budi Wijaya, added that in addition to enlivening the 391st Anniversary of Tangerang Regency under the theme “Keep Striving, Towards Brilliance”, this affordable rice initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to support communities facing rising food prices. “We hope this program provides real benefits to the community. It is also aligned with our Lippo Untuk Indonesia PASTI program, representing Pillars of Education (Pintar), Environment (Asri), Prosperity (Sejahtera), Health (Tangguh), and Economic Empowerment (Independen), with this initiative contributing to the Sejahtera pillar, which focuses on community welfare and engagement,” said Ketut Budi Wijaya.
