Lippo Begins Renovation of 1,500 Village Homes Starting in Malang
Malang, East Java, Tuesday, 26 August 2025 – The Lippo Group has launched a program to renovate 1,500 village homes, starting in Kampung Wisata Topeng, Malang, East Java, as part of the business community’s concrete contribution to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s initiative to build three million homes per year.
This village home renovation program marks Lippo’s initial step in helping to provide decent, healthy, and dignified housing for low-income families, particularly in rural areas and cultural tourism communities.
Supporting the Goals of the 3 Million Homes Program
President Prabowo Subianto’s national housing initiative aims to:
1. Reduce Indonesia’s high national housing backlog.
2. Provide access to livable housing for low- to middle-income communities.
3. Improve the quality of life in rural areas through better basic infrastructure.
4. Spur the creation of local employment in construction, materials, and supporting services.
5. Elevate the dignity of Indonesian families, enabling them to live more productively and contribute to national development.
Statement from Dr. Mochtar Riady, Founder of Lippo
“Home is where hope begins. By renovating simple village houses, we want to ensure that every Indonesian family can experience a better, healthier, and more dignified life. This program reflects Lippo’s moral responsibility as part of the nation and our full support for President Prabowo Subianto’s bold vision of building three million homes annually for the people.”
Statement from Yandri Susanto, Minister of Village Affairs and Development of Disadvantaged Regions
“Village home renovation is one of the most effective forms of social intervention. Adequate housing improves health, education, and the economic productivity of poor families. What Lippo is doing in Malang can serve as a model for private–public collaboration in addressing structural poverty.”
Statement from Ara Sirait, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas
“Housing development is not only about walls and roofs—it is about human dignity. Lippo’s support for President Prabowo’s three-million-home program demonstrates that the private sector can be a strategic partner in accelerating poverty alleviation in Indonesia.”
