LPKR AND LPCK OFFICIALLY INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF SHARIA SECURITIES (DAFTAR EFEK SYARIAH)
Jakarta, August 3, 2021 – The shares of property issuers PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR) and PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk. (LPCK) have officially been included in the Daftar Efek Syariah (DES) or List of Sharia Securities, effective August 1, 2021. This inclusion was confirmed through the decision of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) under Decree Number: Kep-33/D.04/2021 regarding the List of Sharia Securities.
“The DES includes 443 shares from issuers and public companies, as well as other sharia securities,” stated the OJK in its official release.
The data used to determine the DES inclusion was based on financial statements ending December 31, 2020, along with other supporting documents provided in writing by the respective issuers or public companies.
According to the OJK, the inclusion of LPKR and LPCK in the DES under the property sector allows both companies to serve as viable options for sharia-compliant investment. The DES is a key reference for parties such as fund managers of sharia mutual funds, Islamic insurance companies, and individual investors who prefer to invest in sharia-compliant securities.
Furthermore, the DES also serves as a reference for sharia index providers, such as the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in publishing indices like the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII70), and IDX-MES BUMN 17.
John Riady, CEO of LPKR, stated, “We welcome the inclusion of LPKR and LPCK shares in the DES, as it provides investors with an option and a reference to invest in accordance with sharia principles. The OJK’s decision is also a testament to our commitment to implementing sound corporate governance (GCG).”
