LPKR Promotes Material Efficiency and Eco-Friendly Initiatives

14/04/25

Jakarta, 14 April 2025 - PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR), Indonesia’s leading real estate and healthcare platform, continues to reinforce its commitment to sustainability by prioritizing material efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly materials in project development.

With extensive experience in developing and managing a diversified asset portfolio—including landed residential homes, high-rise apartments, hospitals, retail malls, hotels, commercial and industrial zones, office buildings, and integrated townships—LPKR strives to create value across all segments through innovative land use and an integrated value chain.

As a pioneer in the implementation of sustainability principles, LPKR is committed to building livable environments while preserving nature for all stakeholders and future generations.

As part of this commitment, LPKR actively explores environmentally friendly material alternatives, recognizing that construction materials represent a significant contributor to the company’s overall carbon footprint.

Over the past two years, LPKR’s real estate segment has used approximately 183 kilotons of building materials, including concrete, steel, glass, and wood. To reduce its environmental impact, the company is exploring solutions such as prefabricated components, recycled materials, and promoting home renovations over demolition and new construction.

The company is also actively researching and adopting sustainable design practices to enhance material efficiency in its project development processes.

John Riady, Group CEO of Lippo Indonesia, emphasized that sustainability is a strategic pillar for long-term value creation and growth.

“Integrating sustainability into core business strategy, operations, and risk management is essential. A holistic ESG-based approach forms the foundation for a more responsible and resilient future,” he stated.
