LPKR Targets 30% Sustainable Water Utilization by 2030

27/10/25

Jakarta, October 27, 2025 — In its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk (LPKR), Indonesia’s leading integrated real estate and healthcare services platform, continues to strengthen its efforts to improve water-use efficiency.

Following the successful achievement of its initial target, LPKR has raised its goal for sustainable water utilization from 20% to 30% of total water consumption by 2030.

As of 2024, 24% of the Company’s water needs have been supplied from sustainable sources, including wastewater recycling and rainwater harvesting. This marks a significant improvement from 2019, when such sources accounted for only 6% of total consumption.

To support this progress, LPKR has made a series of strategic investments to enhance its water management capabilities. Water retention systems are now deployed to capture rainwater and surface runoff, while hospitals have strengthened water security through backup water sources supported by Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) autoclaves, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

In addition, the Company collaborates closely with local water utilities and regularly evaluates the potential use of treated water from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) to ensure long-term efficiency and sustainability.

John Riady, Group CEO of Lippo Indonesia, noted that sustainable water utilization has become an integral part of LPKR’s operations across multiple sectors. At Lippo Village, for example, all operational water needs—from irrigation to drainage and canal cleaning—are met using treated wastewater. Meanwhile, across hospitals, malls, and hotels, the Company optimizes water recycling systems for non-potable uses such as cooling towers, landscape irrigation, and cleaning of public areas.

Through these initiatives, LPKR remains committed to making every drop of water count—not only in supporting business continuity, but also in safeguarding environmental sustainability.

Looking ahead, LPKR will continue to expand the adoption of sustainable water management technologies throughout its operational network. Innovations in water recycling systems, rainwater harvesting, and clean water efficiency will be further enhanced to achieve long-term water resource resilience.
