LPKR’S GREENING STRATEGY

Jakarta, December 7, 2022 – PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR), Indonesia’s leading real estate and healthcare company by revenue, remains committed to revitalizing and maintaining green spaces across several of its developed townships, including Lippo Village, Lippo Cikarang, and Tanjung Bunga in Makassar.

LPKR has made significant investments in the rejuvenation and maintenance of greenery in public areas, particularly through tree planting and cultivation of local plants. Between 2019 and 2021, LPKR invested over IDR 1 billion to revitalize underutilized or neglected green spaces in Lippo Village, resulting in the addition of 32,000 square meters of open green space accessible to residents and the general public.

To date, LPKR has planted more than 165,000 trees in Lippo Village, Lippo Cikarang, and Tanjung Bunga, the majority of which were planted by local residents and community groups. In addition to beautifying the environment, these trees act as natural carbon filters, helping reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Strategically placed greenery and open spaces also help mitigate the urban heat island effect. For example, the average daily temperature in Lippo Village is 28°C, which is 3°C cooler than the average daily temperature in Jakarta, which stands at 31°C.
