LPKR’S Strategy to Reduce Emissions and Pollution

08/09/25

Jakarta, September 8, 2025 – PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk. (LPKR), a leading real estate and healthcare services platform in Indonesia, reaffirmed its commitment to combating climate change. Through a comprehensive decarbonization strategy, LPKR is accelerating emissions reduction efforts by integrating green energy initiatives, digitalization, and electrification across its business lines.

Lippo Group CEO John Riady stated that these efforts are supported by regular energy audits, the implementation of energy efficiency measures, systematic asset upgrades, and the optimization of opportunities in green building development and renewable energy adoption.

In terms of energy efficiency and periodic audits, LPKR encourages each business unit to pursue decarbonization through partnerships with vendors for the replacement of energy-efficient equipment, while leveraging group-wide procurement to achieve cost efficiencies. The Company also provides technical support in the form of decarbonization roadmaps and tailored implementation plans for each business unit.

In the lifestyle segment, Lippo Malls Indonesia targets annual energy savings of approximately IDR 14.5 billion following audits conducted at 18 shopping centers. Meanwhile, Aryaduta Hotels is upgrading its air-conditioning systems, which is projected to reduce energy consumption by around 10%.

Within the healthcare segment, Siloam Hospitals has allocated IDR 5.3 billion for energy-related projects, including chiller optimization and the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. This year, Siloam continues to introduce innovations such as OT Smart Cooling and equipment retrofits as part of its pathway toward Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

Digitalization serves as a key driver of efficiency. LPKR’s business units have begun utilizing automated dashboards to monitor daily energy and water consumption. This system enables faster detection of anomalies and more targeted energy-saving strategies. In addition, LPKR is piloting digital Building Management Systems (BMS) and AI-based cooling solutions across selected assets. The Company has also adopted a group-wide ESG data management system to streamline reporting and ensure continuous progress toward its sustainability targets.

To support the clean energy transition, LPKR is expanding the use of solar power and installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across its property developments. These initiatives are aligned with Indonesia’s National Electric Vehicle Acceleration Program.

Beyond energy initiatives, LPKR is also actively enhancing green spaces. To date, more than 160,000 trees have been planted to mitigate urban heat, improve air quality, and absorb carbon emissions. In 2024, an additional 478 trees were planted in Lippo Village/Park Serpong and 1,114 trees in San Diego Hills.

Furthermore, through its Town Management Development (TMD) activities, the Company has allocated IDR 17.5 billion for the revitalization of parks and public green spaces. Educational campaigns have also been intensified to encourage active community participation, including efforts to prevent household waste burning that can exacerbate air pollution.

Through these initiatives, LPKR underscores its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen that not only focuses on business growth, but also strives to generate positive environmental and social impact.
