Jakarta, January 21, 2022 – Lippo Group, together with its partner Gojek, continues to show strong commitment to collaborate in supporting, promoting, and accelerating the growth of Indonesia's digital economy — a sector with a promising future and rapidly increasing value. To build this ecosystem, Lippo Group and Gojek have partnered to integrate digital technology with Lippo’s established conventional business lines.

Lippo Group has also invested in the digital economy through its collaboration with Gojek and Tokopedia (GoTo). PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa, the company behind Gojek, holds a 6% stake in PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA), a leading multi-format modern retailer under Lippo Group, which operates Hypermart, Foodmart, Hyfresh, Primo, fmx, and Boston Health & Beauty.

The partnership between Lippo Group and Gojek continues through PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk (LPKR) – the listed real estate arm of Lippo Group on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. “By adopting Gopay Plus as a payroll method for LPKR employees, we see potential for further collaboration in the future,” said John Riady, Executive Director of Lippo Group and CEO of LPKR.

John remains optimistic about the future of Indonesia’s digital economy and its growing value. According to the e-Conomy SEA 2021 report by Google, Temasek Holdings, and Bain & Co., Indonesia’s digital economy was estimated to reach USD 70 billion in 2021. The report also projects continued growth, with the sector expected to reach USD 330 billion by 2030, positioning Indonesia as one of the world’s largest digital economy hubs.
