1990s

Pioneering a New Way of Living

Lippo develops Lippo Karawaci as one of Indonesia’s first modern satellite cities, pioneering the integrated township model. Lippo launches other townships including the industrial township of Lippo Cikarang in the eastern corridor of Greater Jakarta, and the coastal township of Tanjung Bunga in Makassar, the gateway city of Sulawesi.

Lippo builds one of Indonesia’s first modern private hospital in Lippo Karawaci, laying the foundation for the Siloam Hospitals Group and setting new benchmarks in private healthcare.

Lippo builds retail centres to transform unproductive land plots within cities into modern and dynamic urban centres. Lippo also takes over the operations of well-known hotels in prime locations, injecting a uniquely Indonesian hospitality approach under the Aryaduta brand.

2000s

Expanding Across the Archipelago

Lippo expands its development and operational footprint beyond Greater Jakarta to Tier 1 and 2 cities in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. 

Lippo is the first Indonesian healthcare operator to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.

Lippo develops Indonesia’s first retail strata-titled project, diversifying its real estate development portfolio. Lippo also launches over 25 malls and 5 hotels in premium downtown locations and suburban city centres.

Lippo lists the first healthcare-focused REIT (First Real Estate Investment Trust) as well as the first Indonesian retail REIT (Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust) on the Singapore Exchange, pioneering cross-border capital market expansion.

2010s

Creating an Integrated Urban Ecosystem

Lippo diversifies its real estate offerings by developing large-scale integrated developments in Greater Jakarta, combining residential, retail, healthcare, and education within a mixed-use superblock. Lippo also pioneers the first memorial park in Indonesia.

Lippo launches over 30 hospitals to rapidly scale Siloam’s hospital network throughout Indonesia. PT Siloam International Hospitals Tbk is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Lippo evolves its mall concepts from shopping centres to one-stop retail destinations and continues to acquire and develop over 30 malls to grow its footprint in East Indonesia. Lippo also expands its hospitality portfolio into lifestyle and leisure offerings such as a golf course and country club.

2020s

Accelerating Sustainable Growth

Lippo introduces affordable housing products to meet first-home owner demand and support inclusive growth. Lippo commits to integrating sustainability in its asset portfolio and operations through green building certification, rooftop solar panel installations, electric vehicle charging stations, and various energy efficiency and water recycling initiatives.

Lippo strengthens Siloam’s clinical offerings through the establishment of key Centres of Excellence and overseas partnerships with leading hospitals and research institutions. Siloam advances its market leadership in innovation through its digitalization and AI roadmap, and use of cutting-edge technologies such as surgical robots.

Lippo launches new malls anchored on lifestyle and entertainment offerings, as well as revitalizes its legacy malls and hotels with new concepts and renovated facilities.
